Just five tent cabins share an eight acre field. Each cabin sleeps six with a double bedroom, bunk room with two single beds and a double bed tucked away in a cupboard.
Fully equipped with everything you need from pots and pans, bottle opener, washing up liquid, coffee maker and tea pot.
This is a back to the best things in life basics environment, so you won't find wifi but you will find a coffee grinder, you won't fine electric lighting but you'll be lit by the light of paraffin lamps and candles.
We have a small friendly dog Roger, a family of donkeys, George, Molly, Jackson and Bunny, Foxglove our miniature Shetland pony , a gaggle of orphan lambs, hens and goats.
Since taking the plunge and moving from London to the rural hills of North Devon a decade ago the family has embraced country life, and the specific joys that this special corner of Britain offers. Berridon Farm is a small farm of around 50 acres and is run on organic principles.
Our tents have been designed to be simple and comfortable. You'll find cold running water in the fully equipped kitchen complete with old style coffee grinder, the woodburning stove provides heat for the tent, a hob for cooking and an oven for roasting and baking. There's the mains flushing toilet. A comfortable leather sofa for lounging, or a dining table with chairs for eating and socialising. For sleeping, there is a double bedroom, a bunk bed room and a trapper bed, comprising a double mattress in a cupboard - all your bed linen is provided, you just make up your beds on arrival to create your home from home.
You'll find no electricity in the tents, light is provided by lamps and candles... and entertainment is provided by the box of games, and each other of course.
You won't find a shower in your tent, but you'll find piping hot showers in the farmyard showers, another loo, and a little tin bath for babies and toddlers. You'll find the showers right next to the farm pantry where you can collect fresh bread each morning, or pick up your essentials.
Each tent sleeps up to six in the three sleeping areas; double bedroom, bunk room with two single beds and a small double bed in a tapper-bedcupboard. For little ones we have high chairs and travel cots. There is room for one travel cot per tent in the double bedroom.
The inventory has been created to make cooking and dining a sociable pleasure, from the coffee grinder and espresso pot to pots and pans, everything you'll need is included.
